I’ve been thinking a lot recently about what the best year ever would look like and how I would achieve it and how both business and personal life would co-habit and work together in this journey.
Where do I want to be in a years time?
Now this may seem like a simple question, however being an entrepreneur who has multiple new ideas regularly and likes to do lots of different things, this is tough.
I worked out I want to do more mentoring, teaching, supporting with big changes and less of the admin and social media bits, although I don’t want to stop them altogether. There are certain clients I adore, that I’ve worked with for years and I enjoy the little admin bits I do for them, but I have realised I want to be able to select just a handful of clients I do this for and then the rest of the time focus on other bits.
Mentoring
So what are the other bits? Well as I said above I love Mentoring and have mentored so many people over the years and it’s something I really want to build more into my business this year and at least a third of my ‘billable hours’ to be spent doing this. I love supporting either new VA’s or those who have an online service based business and are a little stuck. I am super efficient at coming up with suggestions and solutions for others to help them overcome barriers, to streamline their business, to save time, to incorporate more self care and work towards building that dream business.
VIP Days
Following on from the mentoring and really tying in with me being a super organisational wizard, I want to spend more time helping businesses with getting organised, decluttering and saving time so I’ve actually created a new service to do exactly that called a VIP day. I can’t reveal too much but I realised I already do this for clients in Power Hours, strategy Zoom sessions and when just supporting, so I’ve turned it into a proper service and it will be launching by the end of March. I’m so excited to share this with you and by the end of the year I’d love to be doing at least a couple of these a month!
Canva
The other area of my business I want to grow is the Canva side. It’s no secret I love Canva, I run 121 training, group workshops and also do the design side for those who don’t have the time or inclination to do it themselves. I already do a lot of work with Canva and plan on doing much more this year. I am a naturally creative person and this really feeds my creative soul.
VA Support
This is the type of work I love the most and am focusing more on this year, however I still want to grow my VA business and team of Associates, so will still be taking on new clients, however the majority will be allocated to my team to work with, with my support and guidance of course.
What will these changes mean for me?
- Increased profits
- Working less hours (aiming for 3.5 days by the end of the year)
- Attracting more of my ideal clients
- More self care and balance
- More adventures
- A strong and growing business that feeds my soul
I know if you are reading this then your ideal year maybe something completely different to mine and that’s okay. We all have different goals, things we want from life, things that make us happy and matter most.
How did I come to decide on what the best year ever will look like?
I visualised! I sat down with some calming music and thought about what the best year ever would look like, how I would spend my time, who I would be working with, how it fits in with my personal life, how I would feel. However because I am also a super practical and organised person, when I had written all this down and visualised what I wanted, I then sat down and looked at the practical side of how many billable hours it would be, how much energy it would take, how I would market it, how much could I earn and should I charge. For me it’s important to not just have dreams, but to make sure they are achievable and realistic and as it turns out, they are!
Now why don’t you do this exercise and sit down and visualise what your best year ever could look like and how you will get there. Better still book a session with me and let me help you get there.
