Part of someone else’s dream ⭐️
When we are employees we sometimes feel like a cog in a machine and we are helping someone else work towards their dream, which of course is no bad thing, however it might not align with our dreams, where we want to be and what we want out of life. When our time is spent on things that don’t make our heart sing or work towards our goals, then it can make the start of the week feel dreaded and make us not look forward Monday’s. So, how do we fall in love with Monday’s again?
Working for someone else often means doing tasks that we don’t enjoy, sticking to a schedule that you have no say over and even though we are offered a certain amount of security with a salary, a set working schedule and the social aspect of working with others, for some it doesn’t offer the fulfillment we seek.
Running your own business 🌸
For those of us who are lucky enough to own our own business, not have to answer to the man/woman, our day may feel a little different. However it is very easy as a business owner to get stuck in a rut, work more hours than when you were employed and push ourselves so hard that we burn out.
What you need to know is that it doesn’t have to be this way, trust me, I did it, I am speaking from personal experience. When I first launched my business full time I worked 7 days a week for the first 4 months, I worked more hours then when I was employed, I earnt less money, I felt stressed, overwhelmed, like I had to work every hour under the sun, be available 24/7 for my clients, had no boundaries and was so close to burnout.
Now I decide what hours I work – which is 5 days a week max (sometimes 4), I have strong boundaries which I stick to, am charging my worth, less stressed and if I ever feel overwhelmed I give myself time to step away and regroup. I incorporate a walk first thing in the morning into every day, it’s written into my schedule, I take an hour lunch break pretty much every day, have Friday’s to work on my business and self development and I design my schedule.
Monday’s don’t have to be ‘dreaded’ 😟
You are your own boss, you are empowered, in control, have freedom, choice and are rocking being a bass-ass business owner. So why can’t you design your Monday’s to be the best day of the week, chose how you spend your day, one which will set you up for an awesome week? Why the hell not? Create your day to be one in which you get excited about, can’t wait to start the working week and fall in love with Monday’s all over again (or for the first time). Mine are a mix of a walk, long lunch, a few 121’s and then some flexible time which I can either do client work, write and create or have some down time.
What’s stopping you from falling in love with Monday’s?! Go do something about it, after all, you’re the boss!
If you need more time to create more flexibility in your day, then outsourcing to me could be helpful. If you would like to talk about it, get in touch here
